May Thy Love Shine Forever

There are some moments that bring forth resolutions from the depths of our being. Here are two such classical moments:

There is a beautiful conversation in the book Autobiography of a Yogi between Swami Sri Yukteswar and his disciple Paramhansa Yogananda.

“God is the Honey, organizations are the hives; both are necessary. Any form is useless, of course, without the spirit, but why should you not start busy hives full of the spiritual nectar?”

His counsel moved me deeply. Although I made no outward reply, an adamant resolution arose in my breast: I would share with my fellows, so far as lay in my power, the unshackling truths I had learned at my guru’s feet. “Lord,” I prayed, “may Thy Love shine forever on the sanctuary of my devotion, and may I be able to awaken that Love in other hearts.”

This was but the beginning of many more things to come! When the heart is convinced, it unleashes unimagined energy and finds the way.

In the life of Swami Kriyananda, he writes in his autobiography The New Path,

‘This day,’ he thundered, punctuating every word, ‘marks the birth of a new era. My spoken words are registered in the ether, in the Spirit of God, and they shall move the West. . . . Self-Realization has come to unite all religions. . . . We must go on, not only those who are here, but thousands of youths must go North, South, East, and West to cover the earth with little colonies, demonstrating that simplicity of living plus high thinking lead to the greatest happiness!’

I was stirred to my very core; it would not have surprised me had the heavens opened up and a host of angels come streaming out, eyes ablaze, to do his bidding. Deeply I vowed that day to do my utmost to make his words a reality. Twenty years later, with his inner help and by the grace of God, I was able to start the first of what have since become several thriving communities.

One may coerce or impose ideas on people even for their well being. But it generally doesn’t work. It is like beating an egg to come to life. But when the necessary warmth and love is showered upon, there is birth of a new life and unceasing blessings.

Master’s speech on that day in Beverly Hills certainly created an impact and the result manifested as Ananda communities by Swamiji. We are so blessed to be part of his family and very humbled to understand that Master had all of us in his thoughts, that souls like us who were wandering will find solace in his home and through Ananda.
And with his Grace, I pray to Master that he blesses me to be at his service always and to take his teachings in any form that he wishes, to as many souls. As we have received, so others receive too. Humble Pranams at his Lotus Feet.

Beautifully captured Thulasi. “Those who think me near I am near” …is so very true/real for both this great Avatar of Love as well as his devoted most loving and most compassionate Swamiji. I am forever grateful to my Guru, to Swamiji and Ananda for this path.

Dear Thulasi,
Very true . Love and kindness is needed for the new beginnings. Swamiji s love for Master and his teachings, and yearning to help others and make them taste the honey that he has cherished, is his energy and kindness, that has given us these communities and gurubhais, inspite of varied cultures and nature of an individual. Thanks for sharing and triggering a thought on Master and Swamiji.

Beautiful Thulasi!

The seed planted by Sri Yukteshwar, grew to such immense blissful community! What an inward resolution by Master, So powerful and rock strong! “Lord,” I prayed, “may Thy Love shine forever on the sanctuary of my devotion, and may I be able to awaken that Love in other hearts.”

Great boatman he is, he not only reached the ‘other side’ but carries each and every longing bhakta to reach God. Blessed to be his disciple.

Jai Guru

I just wonder what would have happend to our fate, if master, not had that
counsel and swamiji, the garden party in Beverly Hills.

Those are the seeds of the Kalpavriksha – the path laid for us to walk on.

Thank you Master, Thank you Swamiji
