August mysteries of Spirit

The spirit of creation is in the Spirit and here are some wonderful analogies presented by Master explaining its manifestations.

God is the ocean of Spirit, and human beings are like waves that rise and fall on the ocean’s surface.

His one consciousness took on the appearance of opposites

How did God, the one Reality, manifest this universe of appearances? He did so through the law of duality.

His one consciousness took on the appearance of opposites: of positive and negative, of light and darkness, of pleasure and pain, and so on to an infinity of contrasting illusions.

God is the electricity, and human beings are the light bulbs.

God is the electricity, and human beings are the light bulbs. The bulbs may be infinitely varied in shape, color, and brightness. The actual power with which they shine, however, is the same for all.

Human beings are like the individual jets of flame on a gas stove. God is the reservoir of gas underneath.

God is the reservoir of gas underneath

Visualize many pots filled with water, standing in a garden. Then imagine the moon shining down from above. In every pot, the moon’s reflection will appear separate. In fact, however, all the pots reflect the same moon.

And here is a poem attempting to convey the variety in creation that has sprung from the essential unity.

The Universe
Has a single verse.
Varies its meters
With startling metaphors.

Starts on a single note
Now resounding with scriptural quotes.
Symphonic brilliance in movements
Now, rests eternally on each moments.

Ah, tell me are we one?
or, are we the One?
One life lives it all,
none beholds it, save thru’ inner call.

Rhythmic beats one, two, three
Measure beyond infinity.
‘The Prime simplicity
becomes the bewildering manifold.’

Secret is blazoned
Return to the one.
Know then from opening the eye,
What it means to be that nonchalant Guy.
